RPII Inspectors

The Register of Play Inspectors International has worked in conjunction with a number of organisations to provide a scheme known as P.I.P.A. (Pertexa Inflatable Play Accreditation) whereby inflatable play equipment is inspected and tested for compliance with HSE guidelines. more information availible here

What is the purpose of PIPA

The PERTEXA Inflatable Play Accreditation (PIPA) scheme is designed to provide a
system whereby inflatable play equipment can conform to the testing and inspection
requirements of HSE guidelines.

It should be emphasised that the scheme covers only the inflatable equipment itself
and is not designed to regulate or endorse operational procedures.

Check the Status of your Inflatable

Every inflatable manufactured or imported since mid September 2004 should have a uniquely numbered tag. This tag means that it has been tested against stringent standards and has passed this initial test.

In addition inflatables are required to undergo an annual test (like an MOT). Untagged units will be tagged as and when they are presented for annual testing. This means that from the 1st September 2005 if you are offered an inflatable for hire you should be able to look for and find the tag number actually on the unit.

If there is no tag then it has not been tested under the PIPA scheme

You can also find the current test status of any tagged inflatable from our site, simply enter the tag number on this page to see when the last annual test was carried out and when the next test is due.
